I flew back on this aircraft last night from Kona. Following my outbound flight a week before from SFO to Kona. Both flights were the WORST first class seat I have ever had! It should properly be called "economy with meals" There were no amenities, no seat back movie screen, ZERO degrees seat recline, no pillow, bottled water (not served in glass), no extra space to store even a pair of eyeglasses. The only seating advantage was there were only two seats on either side of the aisle, not three. That Alaska has the audacity to call this (and charge for it) FIRST class is a joke! It's No class. Save yourself the disappointment and money; Do NOT fly Alaska First Class on this 737-800 Aircraft. You will hate it!

Row 17 is exit and we were lucky to sit here on our inbound and outbound to HNL. No addl premium seat charge either. There is a lot of legroom, however the seats do not recline at all. Also there is no real armrest on this window seat, just a small bar. I would imagine row 18 could be an ok place to sit since 17 doesnt recline into your space. Overall i would still sit in 17 for the extra legroom

Leg room was fine but the seat cushion was too thin. After a long 6 hour flight from JFK to PDX it felt like a fell down a flight of stairs on my bottom! Seat width wasnt very good at all. NOT WORTH the extra $99

Quite loud, despite premium status. Seat tends to be dirty with non-dry food marks (3 flights in a row). The extra fore/aft room helps, but the width is tight even for a medium build like me. Cushioning is fine, nothing special. Back rest is tall enough to rest your head on. Frequently the back rests will not recline at all due to seat component failure.

The seat is wide and comfortable. The seat pitch isn't much. Service was below par. I wanted to order the beef dinner and the stewardess said they were out and only the pasta was available! Who runs out of food selection in FIRST CLASS and there were only 12 seats! Then she told me we should've ordered our dinner preflight! For the price we paid for first class it felt more like comfort seats. There's no internet connection for this flight but they did provide a entertainment tablet. Save your hard earned dollar and go for comfort seating and bring your own food. Cabin seating you have to purchase you nourishment.

Take note that row 6 has no tray tables from seast in front. Row ahead is first class and only two seats per row requiring tray tables to be stored between seats in row 6. This causes a more narrow seat and is VERY hot since you are enclosed in plastic. Our premium seats were switched without notice to this row. Doesn't feel like a premium set whatsoever.

Alaska Air allows standard cabin customers to use the forward lavatory. Yet insist that they wait in the isle in front of the main cabin. basically the restroom line stands constantly between 6c and 6d. Not worth the added cost to have a stranger's butt in your face hour after hour and people constantly hitting your shoulder and elbow as they pass by and/or try to squeeze past each others waiting in line. Hardly a premium experience.

The seat was good. I was surprised to find that the seat had 110V power available, I didn't bother to bring my computer because I didn't think I would be able to charge it on the flight. If I had known ahead of time I would have packed differently. Other than that it was a typical economy class seat, nothing bad to say. Noisy at takeoff but ok once in the air. Left on time and arrived a few minutes early. 3.5 hour flight SEA to ANC. Gate and Flight attendants were friendly and provided good service. The seat was bigger than coach (expected) but I expected a greater recline...only about 4-5 inches. At full recline I felt very upright which made sleeping impossible. Also, NO entertainment. You MUST bring in your own smartphone or tablet, download their app and then you can chose movies and shows. For first class the on-board wi-fi is free. Leg room was good, I'm 5'6". First class meal was OK...a tasty sandwich with chips...this was dinner...not exactly award winning cuisine. Power was a standard US plug and USB port. Compared to other airlines domestic American and United Airlines offer a better FC product.

The seat was okay, not the most comfortable, and didn't seem to recline as much as i'd have hoped. (Alaska reservations told me later Row 3 does not recline, or at least it doesn't recline fully.) It was a bit noisy being right in front of coach, but what was odd was they kept letting the coach folks use the first class bathroom, so there were always people walking by, which got annoying after a while. Wonderful flight attendants, great food, overall very enjoyable. (The air pressure and/or oxygen levels made me feel awful bythe time we arrived (6 hour flight) -- but that may not be unique to AA.) Oh and the entertainment device was a lot of fun too. I did not pay for wifi, as I recall it was prohibitively expensive.

Both window seats in row 11 have a protrusion from the side of the plan that dramatically reduces shoulder and arm space on the window side. Made for an uncomfortable flight even though, unlike 10A, 11A does have a window forward of the seat.

Additional leg room is nice. Seats are horribly uncomfortable due to hard-sided armrests. Attendants may forget that these are premium seats.

There are two rows of emergency exit seats, rows 16 and 17. Plenty of legroom in both but instead of limited recline for row 16, there is NO recline at all for seats in row 16, so you will sit up straight for the full journey. Entertainment system is changing. We got the equipment using the go go entertainment system requiring a couple of downloads of software ... but it functioned well in giving you free access to movies on board.

We had these seats PDX-HNL. They were great with plenty of space (leg room & seat width). Overhead bins had plenty of space as well. Service was good as is the norm on Alaska.

Both going and coming from Maui on Alaska, these seats were very noisy caused by passengers in economy rows/seats 6 DEF. The passengers in 6DEF kicked and pushed on our First Class Seats both ways. We were the last to receive meals and got "what was left over". Service in row 3 was equivalent to economy plus. Rows 1 & 2 were done with dessert when we received our entree. Never offered refill on coffee but those in rows 1&2 were offered beverages frequently. The flight attendant told us that is what you get when you book row 3. Unacceptable when you pay full-fare for first class. The entire cabin should be treated the same. Leg room good and seat was very comfortable.

My family of 5 sat in rows 8 and 9 premium class and we boarded early as advertised and were happy with our snack box (fig bar, almonds, chocolate). Not sure what happened with the guy complaining there's no early boarding. The seats themselves are no wider or more padded than the standard seats except the headrest but no one felt they were uncomfortable compared to standard. The armrests are fairly small and unobtrusive, and can be moved. We booked for the extra leg room (guy on the window could get out without any of us standing up) and free drinks and everyone was happy.

The last 3 rows of seats on both sides of the aircraft have limited/no overhead space. They are locked for safety or health equipment. If it's important to have access to your bag very close to your seat, you'd be wise to book a different seat further up the aircraft.

Row 10 on the left side of the plane is missing a window, but these are also premium class seats. No warning given during the booking process. Buyer beware: forking over extra money doesn't mean you'll get a window!

A good seat, well worth the extra fee for Elite status. Flight attendants even provided these "Elite" seat passengers with a special snack treat, including goldfish, almonds and chocolate.

Missing/mismatched window for seats 11A & 11F: In the "Premium Class" configuration of Alaska's Boeing 737-800, row 11 would normally have 2 windows: one window forward near row 10, and a second window immediately at row 11 near the passenger's shoulder/elbow. In this aircraft configuration, that second window is missing -- replaced by a hard plastic panel (probably covering cables or tubes) that encroaches on elbow room. I'm a pretty average 6-footer, and on this flight I needed to work on my laptop computer. As a result of this wall panel, I returned home with a bruised elbow.

Lots of extra leg room. Don't have anyone reclining their seat in to your lap. You get first choice of meals. I do agree this seat needs a pocket on the wall in front of it. Even to read the emergency card or the inflight magazine you have reach over the person in 1A as they have the only pocket for 1A & C. Same problem exists for 1 D&F.Otherwise a great seat that I would choose again.

I flew in first class on this plane, and it was amazing, friendly staff, good food, lots of leg room-if you put your stuff in the overhead bins-I put my stuff underneath the seat, I was okay since I am short, but not really good for long legged people.

The premium seats are the biggest waste of 80$! They are some of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. They do have a little bit more legroom compared to the main cabin regular seats. The seats are too narrow, I'm fairly skinny (5'10" 165 lbs) and I felt cramped in the seats. Flight to Kona was miserable, I could hardly walk when I got off the plane because of how sore the seats made my back and legs. The added "food" they give you is just a snack box with 3 things in it (didnt bother opening it, wasnt big enough to satisfy a toddlerOn our return flight we sat in the main cabin regular seats and they were a hell of a lot more comfortable than the premium seats. Just another money making scam for AA to make more money

Let me see. Where do i begin. These new seats have to be the most uncomfortable seats I've ever had the displeasure of sitting in. Minimalist padding does not work for the passenger. Oh I am sure it works for Alaska airlines because it allows them to cram more seats in regardless of the pain it costs their passengers. I touched the guy next to me in those 5 hours plus more than I touch my wife. If i have a choice i will never travel again with Alaska. Maybe if more of us withhold our dollars they will rethink their cattle car mentality.

Premium: Loved the extra legroom. Wonderful! Contrary to a previous comment, at the OAK airport Premium was boarded right after First and Military. This almost guarantees that you will have space in the overheard for your bag. Then, boarding continued loading from the rear. Snack Box: Nice extra. Pkg of Craisins, pkg of almonds and a chocolate square. Not a 'joke', as a previous comment said, but it depends on what your expectations are, I suppose. I think the seats are supposed to have less padding in these Slimline planes but I didn't notice. All in all, for my first flight with Alaska Airlines, I had a very pleasant experience. Thanks, Alaska!

Seat does give extra legroom but paying extra does not guarantee early boarding as advertised. Still some confusion over what gate agents know about new seats. Snack box is a bit of a joke.

Lots of legroom, but the seats are cramped due to the intrusive armrest. I was put in this seat, it was not the one I chose. Be careful, Alaska assigns seats even after you have payed for a particular one. Fortunately, the man next to me was thin, otherwise it would not have been comfortable.

The forward exit doors show directly in front or even with the seat row. That is not so, the exits are still through the galley.

There is no storage for this seat, or 1C for that matter. No seat or wall pocket, nothing, you have to hold everything on your lap, glasses, book, anything.
