A quick and easy Ranch Dip, Dressing, or Sauce that’s Paleo and Whole30 friendly! Using homemade mayo made with an immersion blender, you can whip up this addicting ranch in just 5 minutes to go with veggies, chicken, beef, or anything you want!

I’m sort of a ranch fan. The second thing I did after discovering the perfect homemade mayo was to figure out how to make it into ranch dip. This Paleo creamy ranch dip is not only a dip, but can be used as a sauce or dressing too. Can we just say it’s ranch and it’s awesome? Well yup, I just did.

I’ve made different versions of this for different purposes, but usually to top a burger or to dip baked fries or veggies in. There have always been subtle variations in the seasoning though, and I wanted to finally have an “official” ranch recipe on here, that will work with anything you want to eat it with. Or right off the spoon, dare I say.

Aside from spoon licking, you know what ranch reminds me of? It reminds me of my first year of college, when I discovered that people were putting ranch dressing on pizza. Coming from NY I was seriously horrified by this at first, but it probably took only two weekends for me to start craving it with my late night pizza. I suppose when you’re not eating NY pizza all other pizza rules go, and so for those 4 years I ate a lot of ranch dressing on pizza. But only after 2am. Any earlier and it would still just feel so, so wrong 🙂

Well now, I have to say I enjoy my ranch a lot more for topping salads, burgers, pork chops, and as a dip for veggies, both crispy and roasted and raw. You can even go wild and mix it with chicken for a ranch chicken salad. And then add bacon, because if you’re going wild you’d better just go ALL THE WAY. This easy ranch dip makes anything possible!

If you haven’t tried my homemade mayo yet or haven’t made it with an immersion blender, I highly recommend splurging on one! An immersion blender makes mixing up mayo quicker and easier than toasting a slice of bread. Especially for me, since I don’t even own a toaster anymore! HA HA.

The immersion blender I’ve had for a over a year now is theCuisinart Smart Stick 2-Speed Immersion Hand Blender, and on sale at $35 with free shipping the price is more than worth it for how much you can do. I also blend up coconut milk with this, smooth out batter and make smoothies with it. But honestly, even if you’re only making mayo with it, it’s still worth it!

Easy Ranch Dip, Dressing or Sauce {Paleo & Whole30}

An easy paleo ranch dip, dressing or sauce with homemade mayo as the base. Dairy free, soy free, Whole30 approved.

Ingredients

1/2cuphomemade mayo
1tspgarlic powder
1tsponion powder
3/4tsppaprika
2tspdried chives
1/2tspfresh lemon juice
1/4tspfine grain sea salt

Instructions

Have your mayo already made, measure out a half cup and put it in a small bowl
Stir in the garlic and onion powder, paprika, chives, and salt. Lastly stir in the fresh lemon juice.
You are done! Use right away or store in an air tight container in the fridge up until the date your mayo would expire. I mark my mayo with the expiration date for the egg I used in it.

Oh yes, and the darned yuca fries! Honestly, I wanted to post the recipe for them this week, but, with my ridiculous oven issues I couldn’t get any sort of accurate baking temperature or time. Because, of course, my oven turned off 5 minutes into baking them! So while I still ate them, I have no idea how long they would’ve taken had my oven stayed on. I WILL be making them happen for next week, even if I have to do battle with my oven every day. They went really well with this dip so now it’s a mandatory follow up!

So I’ve never been a fan of ranch dressing…not sure why, but I think part of it was that I always thought it was an “unhealthy” dressing so steered clear of it. But this actually looks good! Not that I think I would be able to stop putting ketchup on my burgers anyway….

  I do also like ketchup on a burger, but ranch and spicy ranch is good sometimes too! Are you still making the whole30 ketchup? I still haven’t tried that one.

I’m notorious for putting dip on everything! In high school, I’d put ranch dressing in Kraft Dinner. I know, I know. Sick.

That just brought back so many memories. I lived in a house with ten people during college. Pizza and ranch dressing was a weekend staple. I shutter at the unhealthy habits we had. I can’t even stand the thought of eating ranch anymore. Too much of a good thing leads to burnout. I need to try your recipe sometime.

I was never a big fan of dips or ranch dressing but I did love dipping pizza crust in I think what was a garlic ranch (or maybe it was creamy Italian, or maybe it was both lol). I still want to make your ketchup recipe…My favorite pizza toppings right now are the loaded veggie slices but way back when I actually loved pepperoni and mushrooms (from La Scala, was that your favorite place too?)

  We did get La Scala sometimes but our favorite (and closest) was and is Emilios on Jericho. We still go there sometimes when I visit my parents, and we actually ate there the first time they met my husband. I remember walking to la scala with a friend who lived near it and getting garlic knots!

i was a ranch girl all the way! basically my entire diet from ages 16-20 consisted of ranch dressing with a side of fries, pizza, or taquitos… i’m telling you, anything i could put that stuff on. i was all over ranch. funny how i discovered ranch after i realized i couldn’t tolerate dairy, but didn’t care. that’s what youth does to you. and yes, AFTER 2am please 🙂
oh and i was very picky about my ranch – especially as i was going through my ranch phase while in culinary school. i could not handle bottled dressing pretty much after that anyway. so i would go to places that i knew made their ranch from scratch. oh geez i was weird and finicky crazy rebel! i should just blog on sauces and dressing. every time we go out i have to try their dressings to see if they are homeade and if so, how they made them. LOL

As a little girl I used to love ranch on veggies and yes, I’ve had it on pizza! One weird pizza thing my friends made me try years ago was dipping pizza in ketchup….wasn’t bad actually, hahahahaha!

I love condiments, so I am sure I will love this! And it’s so much better when it’s homemade. I usually just put hot sauce on my pizza, I guess I’m boring 😉

I learned about the ranch dipping in college too. And Papa John’s garlic butter dipping sauce. Can you guess where my freshman 15 came from? Of course it all came on after 2 a.m. too!

Oh that looks amazing! I love any kind of creamy dressing – I could bathe in mayo – but still haven’t taken the wee bit of effort to make my own. You’re tempting me to buy an immersion blender now though! As if I need more kitchen tools… but yeah, MAYO!

I made this for the first time tonight in week two of my Whole 30. This is awesome, I can’t believe how much better this tastes than any of the brands I used to rely on. It totally felt like I was cheating tonight. Thanks for the great recipe!

Once again, I owe you big time for this recipe! I’m now making your homemade mayo and ranch dip every week! It’s easy and amazing! I use grapeseed oil because it’s light and inexpensive. (Just make sure to initially keep the immersion blender down for as long as Michele instructs. It took me a few times to figure out this is necessary to whip up the mayo.) This mayo is wonderful in our coleslaw and tuna salad, and the ranch dip is a wonderful addition to a grain free wrap, eggs, a dip for sweet potato fries, or as a salad dressing. YUM! Try this! You won’t be disappointed!

I made your recipe for mayo with what I had on hand. Lime and avocado oil. Then jump right onto the ranch dip. I used the 2nd half of the lime… and added a pinch of dill. I have been looking for whole30/paleo ranch that didn’t taste awful! Hit the spot! THANK YOU!

I didn’t have dried chives on hand so I used oregano. Still very good, my wife loved it. It turned out a darker than the pictures but I used a full tsp of paprika.
